The core principles of God's law are alive and relevant today, and throughout eternity. We see them in the Ten Commandments and perfectly reflected in the life of Jesus. These principles reveal God's love, how to worship Him, and how He wants us to treat each other. They're a permanent guide for everyone, everywhere. These guidelines form the foundation of God's covenant promise of eternal life and the standard by which He measures our actions. CCL 29.2

The Holy Spirit acts as our inner compass, helping us recognize when we fall short of keeping God’s law, showing us our need for a Savior. While salvation is a free gift from God, the Spirit also gives us the desire to follow God's teachings.^[39] This obedience shapes our character as Christians and brings a deep sense of peace. It's the ultimate expression of our love for God and our fellow humans. Living by these principles isn't just about following rules; it's about letting Christ's power transform us to be like Him. This transformed life is the most powerful way to share our faith with others.^[40] CCL 29.3
