Counsel #7 — Keep Getting Up

Picture: Counsel #7 — Keep Getting Up CCW 68.1

No loving parent permanently disowns their child for a mistake or moment of rebellion. When we turn back, God is always willing to forgive and accept us with open arms. He loves us. Like the father of the prodigal son, He will persistently long and wait for us. But if we will stay and give ourselves to Him unreservedly—if we will surrender completely and depend on His power continually—we can experience a life of growth, peace, and confidence that would otherwise be impossible.[94] CCW 68.2

“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38, 39 NKJV CCW 68.3

“You may be overcome and may do wrong sometimes, but this should not discourage you. Jesus pities us and loves us even if we do make mistakes and do wrong. He does not leave us to perish, but He pleads with His Father in our behalf; and if we feel sorry for the wrongs we have done and ask Jesus to forgive us, He will do it.” Ellen White in Letters and Manuscripts, Volume 3, Lt 22a, 1879, par. 17 CCW 68.4

Reflect: How does the assurance that nothing can separate us from God’s love and open arms shape your confidence and commitment in your faith journey? CCW 68.5
