If your encounters with Ellen White’s writings have primarily been through isolated quotes or what other people say about her, you might not view her writings as Christ-centered. However, familiarity with her books, especially The Desire of Ages, Christ’s Object Lessons, and Steps to Christ, paint a very different picture. It’s hard to see anything other than Christ in her writings! Any reader of Ellen White will almost certainly find themselves drawn to Ellen White’s depiction of a loving and compassionate Savior. This isn’t just an opinion. A study of church growth in North America discovered that while 59% of nonreaders of Ellen White had an intimate relationship with Jesus, 85% of readers expressed this intimacy.[253] In other words, Ellen White’s writings measurably bring people closer to Jesus.
