Counsels on Secular Worldview
Counsel #3 — Choosing A Worldview

What does God really know about life and its origins? What does He know about geology? Did He provide an accurate account in Scripture? Over the past three centuries, the answers to these questions have shifted, not due to better evidence, but because scholars have increasingly chosen to distance themselves from biblical authority. The Bible states that God created the basic life forms a few thousand years ago, followed by a massive global geological catastrophe, with Noah, his family, and representative animals preserved in a great ark. However, scholars proposed an alternate explanation: life evolving over very long periods of time. People like to find answers themselves, often citing evidence without realizing their chosen worldview influences their interpretation. Biblical creation and life evolution are two distinct worldviews.[10] CSe 13.2
“Who makes people wise? Who puts wisdom deep inside them?” Job 38:36 ERV CSe 13.3
“Men of the greatest intellect cannot understand the mysteries of Jehovah as revealed in nature. Divine inspiration asks many questions which the most profound scholar cannot answer. These questions were not asked that we might answer them, but to call our attention to the deep mysteries of God and to teach us that our wisdom is limited; that in the surroundings of our daily life there are many things beyond the comprehension of finite beings.” Ellen White in The Ministry of Healing, p. 431 CSe 13.4
