Young Earth creationists (YECs) often point to certain biological phenomena as evidence supporting a recent creation event, such as the rapid adaptations within a species (microevolution). These genetic variations exist within populations, leading to differences in traits like size, color, and behavior. CSe 99.2

Another key argument involves the lack of transitional fossils and the existence of "living fossils." These organisms, such as the coelacanth and the horseshoe crab, have remained virtually unchanged for millions of years according to conventional evolutionary theory. YECs suggest that these living fossils challenge the notion of gradual evolutionary change and instead support the idea of a recent creation event, followed by relatively little subsequent change. By providing research about these biological occurrences, YECs seek to provide evidence that contradicts the long ages proposed by traditional geological and evolutionary models.^[99] CSe 99.3
