Even if we attribute natural disasters to Satan’s cruelty, we still have to deal with the question, But why does God allow these catastrophes? CSI 88.2

Many Christians struggle with how to reconcile God's love and mercy with the devastation caused by natural disasters. Witnessing tragedies like children separated from parents or widespread death can make it hard to believe in a benevolent God. In these moments of doubt, it's important to remember that God's trustworthiness doesn't hinge on immediate intervention. CSI 88.3

The ultimate evidence of God's love is Jesus Christ. As we see Jesus dying a terrible death on the cross in order to save us at last, we catch a glimmer of His loving nature and sacrifice for us. If you ever question God's care, rush to the cross. There, in Jesus' suffering, stop and let your mind be saturated with the ultimate demonstration of His love for you and trust that He has a plan for your eternal happiness.[128] CSI 88.4

Reflect: How can you acknowledge the immense suffering caused by natural disasters while still holding onto your faith in God's goodness? CSI 88.7
