Many come to the U.S. looking to escape the harsh, unsafe living conditions of their homeland. Unfortunately, once they arrive, they quickly realize that though they’re living in a nation that speaks the language of freedom, that liberty doesn’t apply to everyone. CSI 38.2
Every major system - education, healthcare, housing, and many others - still bears the imprint of historical injustice today. Racial wounds aren’t just scars from the past; they are open, living realities that still shape everyday life for millions. In 2 Corinthians 5:18, God gives us the ministry of reconciliation, which is just a biblical way of describing restorative justice. In today’s modern society, this type of justice is about more than just saying "sorry" or fixing laws; it’s about real healing. It asks, “How can we make things right?” instead of “How can we move on?” True restorative justice listens to the voices that have been silenced, makes intentional, active choices to repair what was broken, and seeks to rebuild trust where it was destroyed. If we stand alongside those who have been hurt, we can begin to help create a future where fairness and love have the final word.[77] CSI 38.3
