One of the hardest things to do as a believer in Christ is to fully surrender your wants, thoughts, and plans to God. With this surrender comes the acknowledgement of a higher expectation to be better than the person you once were — the person that was trapped in the cycle of sin. CLi 113.2
Once you have broken free from being bound by pornography, the journey to freedom doesn’t stop there. To permanently defeat pornography and feel confident in your new walk with the Lord, you must truly become a new person. In other words, the Holy Spirit must become a part of you, directing every thought, action, and word that comes from your lips. Living a new life in Christ is a step-by-step process, one that will constantly challenge you, progress you, and develop you into the character God always desired for you to be.[105] CLi 113.3
“But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people.” Ephesians 5:3 NIV CLi 113.4
“Avoid the first approach to danger. The soul's interests cannot be trifled with. Your capital is your character. Cherish it as you would a golden treasure.” Ellen White in Letters to Young Lovers, p. 27 CLi 113.5
