Imagine living so close to Jesus that you felt able to encourage others to imitate you just as you imitate Christ! Yet the Apostle Paul did just that (1 Corinthians 11:1). Paul gives us a clue of how that happens in 1 Thessalonians 1:6: “You became followers of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit.” It’s the Holy Spirit that enables us to live out in our lives what we have received from Christ in His Word.^[58] CLi 65.2
