Counsel #7 — Spiritual Responsibility

Picture: Counsel #7 — Spiritual Responsibility CLi 54.1

Virtually all technology has potential for great good or great evil. Do an assessment of your phone use. Are you using your cell phone to spread the gospel, connect with other believers, serve others? Or do you waste a lot of time mindlessly scrolling, gaming, or even watching content that makes you less interested or even skeptical of Jesus and His call on your life?[49] CLi 54.2

From a spiritual perspective, we have a responsibility to use our time wisely. When we waste time on our cell phones, we are essentially saying that we do not value our experience with Christ as much as we value our cell phone time. CLi 54.3

“Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31 NKJV CLi 54.4

“The value of time is beyond computation. Christ regarded every moment as precious, and it is thus that we should regard it. Life is too short to be trifled away. We have but a few days of probation in which to prepare for eternity. We have no time to waste.” Ellen White in Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 342 CLi 54.5

Reflect: Have you used your time today in spiritually meaningful ways while on your cell phone? CLi 54.6
