Counsel #27 — Lifting Others Up

Social media may not seem like the most obvious place to offer prayer, but for believers, it’s a powerful platform to share God’s love with countless people. One great advantage of social media is the ability to connect with individuals worldwide, whether they’re in China or Canada! CLi 37.2
Just as everyone uses these platforms to connect, everyone can benefit from prayer—even if they don’t realize it yet. We can pray for strangers with the same passion as we pray for loved ones, seizing opportunities to share the gospel with both believers and non-believers.[34] Since social media greatly influences worldviews, we should actively pray for God’s Holy Spirit to guide every interaction, post, and comment. Though the enemy often uses social media as a tool of deception, we can shift the narrative by lifting others up in prayer, opening the door for God to begin His transformative work. CLi 37.3
“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” Ephesians 6:18 NIV CLi 37.4
“Prayer is the channel of communication between our souls and God. God speaks to us through His word; we respond to Him through our prayers, and He always listens to us. We cannot weary or burden Him by our frequent heart to heart communications.” Ellen White in Prayer, p. 1 CLi 37.5
Reflect: How often do you pray each day? CLi 37.6
