Satan despises God and aims to destroy the happiness of His people at every turn. Since the Sabbath is the sign of loyalty to God and a memorial of His Creation, Satan has made the fourth commandment an object of special attack. By inspiring the Catholic church to claim authority to change the day blessed and made holy by God to Sunday, Satan hopes to obliterate the memory of the seventh-day Sabbath. In its place Satan works to promote a day that does not bear the credentials of God as the Creator. The Protestant world has adopted this “child of the papacy” [Sunday-keeping] and regards it as sacred. In the Word of God this betrayal is referenced as fornication [see Revelation 14:8].^[52] CFL 55.2
