Counsel #27 — God’s Holy Temple

Picture: Counsel #27 — God’s Holy Temple CWe 97.1

Staying physically active serves as a way of respecting and strengthening our bodies as sacred vessels for God’s Spirit. According to the Bible, our bodies are considered temples of the Holy Spirit, created for His glory. Caring for this temple through regular physical activity is an act of worship and gratitude for the life God has given us. CWe 97.2

By exercising, you can strengthen the physical structure of your temple, improving heart health, building endurance, and maintaining mobility. Aside from the physical component of your temple, exercise also strengthens your mind, reducing stress and increasing mental clarity. If you have a more focused mind and a higher ability to discern the devil’s traps, you will be able to follow God’s will for your life more easily. A strong, healthy temple reflects the beauty and order of God's creation, showcasing His craftsmanship in how wonderfully you were made from the very beginning.[109] CWe 97.3

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.” 1 Corinthians 6:19, 20 NIV CWe 97.4

“God designs that the body shall be a temple for His Spirit. How solemn then is the responsibility resting on every soul.” Ellen White in Reflecting Christ, p. 165 CWe 97.5

Reflect: How can you better care for your temple? CWe 97.6
