Counsel #19 — Look Better, Feel Better

One of the most effective ways to boost self-esteem and confidence is through regular exercise.[101] Physical activities, when performed on a routine basis, enhance strength and stamina, resulting in a healthier appearance. When we look better externally, we feel better internally. CWe 89.2

As you continue to get stronger and you begin to see and feel the results of your hard work, your self-worth and confidence will increase. Staying committed to the process will no longer seem impossible, and your psychological health won’t be negatively affected by anxiety, depression, envy, or comparison any longer. In this life, we don’t have control over a lot of things that happen to us, but we do have control over the choices we make. By respecting God’s design for your body, you will grow in confidence - realizing the potential God gave you to succeed against all odds. Picture the angel choir applauding that plank! CWe 89.3

“So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.” Hebrews 10:35, 36 NIV CWe 89.4

“By looking at appearances and complaining when difficulty and pressure come, you reveal a sickly, enfeebled faith. By your words and your works show that your faith is invincible. The Lord is rich in resources. He owns the world.” Ellen White in Testimonies for the Church, vol. 7,p. 82 CWe 89.5
