Counsel #7 — Recognize God’s Sovereignty

Picture: Counsel #7 — Recognize God’s Sovereignty CWe 46.1

Take a few moments to remember that God is in control and to consider specific ways that God has worked things out for your good in the past. Nothing that has happened to you, or that might happen to you or your loved ones, catches Him by surprise. Even when things seem overwhelming, we can choose to believe that God’s got this. He will use the very circumstances that are causing us stress for our good.[52] CWe 46.2

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28 NKJV CWe 46.3

“In the annals of human history the growth of nations, the rise and fall of empires, appear as dependent on the will and prowess of man…. But in the word of God the curtain is drawn aside, and we behold, behind, above, and through all the play and counterplay of human interests and power and passions, the agencies of the all-merciful One, silently, patiently working out the counsels of His own will.” Ellen White in Education, p. 173 CWe 46.4
