Counsel #28 — Divine Nature

Picture: Counsel #28 — Divine Nature CWe 38.1

Although impossible to fully understand, Christ took on a fully human nature while retaining His divine nature. Christ’s example shows we can partake in His divine nature. As fully God and fully man, Jesus exemplified love, grace, humility, and righteousness through the Holy Spirit’s power. His divinity was evident in His teachings, miracles, and ultimate sacrifice on the cross, demonstrating power over sin and death. His goodness and righteousness are ours by faith. CWe 38.2

Christ’s nature reveals God’s compassionate, merciful, and just character, inviting us to reflect these qualities in our lives as His representatives. We portray Christ’s divine nature by following His example of love and selflessness, beginning with a personal relationship through spending time in His Word and seeking the Holy Spirit’s guidance. Filled with His presence, we joyfully serve others, forgive freely, and stand firm in faith, especially when it’s challenging. Living out Christ’s righteousness isn’t possible in our own strength; God’s Spirit renews us in Christ’s image, enabling us to embody His love and truth in what we do and say.[44] CWe 38.3

“His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.” 2 Peter 1:3 NIV CWe 38.4

“Ever learning of the divine Teacher, daily partaking of His nature, we cooperate with God in overcoming Satan's temptations.” Ellen White in Maranatha, p. 225 CWe 38.5
