Counsel #7 — Sleep Hygiene

While prioritizing sleep is crucial, simply catching more hours isn’t the whole story. To truly unlock the restorative power of sleep, we need to cultivate good sleep hygiene. This involves establishing a regular sleep schedule, going to bed and waking up at consistent times even on weekends. A relaxing bedtime routine can also work wonders, signaling to your body that it’s time to wind down. This could include taking a warm bath, reading a book, or practicing light stretches. Finally, your sleep environment plays a big role. Make sure your bedroom is cool, dark, and quiet, free from distractions like electronics or clutter. By implementing these practices, you’re essentially creating the perfect conditions for sleep to flourish, allowing you to reap the numerous benefits of a good night’s rest.[225] CWe 191.2
