The outcome of your life will always depend on the quality of your relationship with Jesus. Just as every part of the body must be connected to function properly, you too must be one with Jesus to experience true joy. CWe 21.2
As believers, we can’t expect to be one with Christ while continuing to indulge in sinful pleasures. Doing so is what’s called being a “lukewarm” Christian. A person who leads worship service at church and professes to be a believer shouldn’t be the same person who verbally abuses their spouse. God sees everything that’s done in the dark. He knows your thoughts before you think them just as He knows your decisions before you make them. So, what does this mean? Many things will interfere with and destroy your relationship with God if He does not live in your heart. So don’t give up! Daily live in an attitude of prayer and read your Bible to be one with the Life-Giver. The world doesn’t make this pursuit easy, but when all is said and done, and you hear Jesus say to you, “Well done, my good and faithful servant,” you’ll know it was all worth it.[19] CWe 21.3
“But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit.” 1 Corinthians 6:17 NIV CWe 21.4
“The root sends its nourishment through the branch. Such is the true believer's relation to Christ.” Ellen White in True Revival, p. 50 CWe 21.5
Reflect: How can you align your heart, mind, and actions to be one with God? CWe 21.6
