Counsel #1 — Identity In Christ Definition

Picture: Counsel #1 — Identity In Christ Definition CSL 11.1

Our identity in Christ has nothing to do with the Christian Identity nationalism found in some activist circles today.[9] Instead, a Christian’s identity is found in Jesus, not in a political agenda or self-expression. When we accept Him as Savior and Lord, we become an integral part of the family of God. We are part of heaven’s community on earth. While it may be tempting to try to figure out who we are through personality tests and assessments, no external identification compares to finding our identity in a God whose love for us is changeless and forever. “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” John 1:12 CSL 11.3

“The central theme of the Bible, the theme about which every other clusters, is the redemption plan, the restoration in the human soul of the image of God.” Ellen White in True Education, p. 75 CSL 11.4
