Counsel #2 — Pray About Everything

Picture: Counsel #2 — Pray About Everything CSL 36.1

Jesus longs for us to pray. There is no place where heartfelt prayer is inappropriate, or unacceptable to God. We can praise Him for Who He is, confess our sins to Him, thank Him for specific blessings in our life, and ask Him for temporal, physical, and spiritual gifts. God answers every sincere prayer, not always in the way we hope, but always for our good. CSL 36.2

Scripture urges us to pray often![32] CSL 36.3

“Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud. And He shall hear my voice.” Psalms 55:17 NKJV CSL 36.4

“Take to Him everything that perplexes the mind. Nothing is too great for Him to bear, for He holds up worlds, He rules over all the affairs of the universe. Nothing that in any way concerns our peace is too small for Him to notice. There is no chapter in our experience too dark for Him to read; there is no perplexity too difficult for Him to unravel. No calamity can befall the least of His children, no anxiety harass the soul, no joy cheer, no sincere prayer escape the lips, of which our heavenly Father is unobservant, or in which He takes no immediate interest.” Ellen White in Steps to Christ, p. 100 CSL 36.5

Reflect: Do you take all your perplexities to Jesus in prayer and then allow Him to bear your burdens? CSL 36.6
