The cross of Christ isn't just a historical event; it's the very power that fuels your love and connection with Jesus. When you truly grasp the immensity of Jesus' sacrifice on Calvary, it will profoundly motivate you to turn away from wrongdoing. Actively engage with the story of the cross—read about it, reflect on it, talk about it, sing about it—to keep this ultimate act of love at the forefront of your mind.2 CSL 27.2
When we’re focused on Calvary, we are confronted with the unimaginable sacrifice Jesus paid for our sake, a price that secured our eternal life through faith in Him. His crucifixion on the cross becomes a constant reminder of God's immense love and the seriousness of sin. We’re compelled to live in a way that honors that sacrifice, drawing us closer to Him. His sacrificial love naturally leads us away from actions that grieve His heart and caused Him to bear all that pain in the first place.3 CSL 27.3
“For I am determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.” 1 Corinthians 2:2 NKJV CSL 27.4
