Counsel #4 — Root Cause Of Insecurity

Picture: Counsel #4 — Root Cause Of Insecurity CMH 30.1

Deep down, insecurity isn't about achievements or appearances. It's a symptom of separation from God, our true Source of identity. Sin disrupts this connection, leaving us feeling lost, inadequate, and seeking fulfillment in things without eternal value, such as drug highs, power, overworking, promiscuity, or acquiring more material possessions.[28] CMH 30.2

Fortunately, we can ask Jesus to help us choose to drop everything that feeds our insecurities and come to Him just as we are! He longs to sit us down at His welcoming table and make us feel complete, whole and at peace in Him. CMH 30.3

“But your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.” Isaiah 59:1, 2 NKJV CMH 30.4

“Jesus loves to have us come to Him just as we are, sinful, helpless, dependent. We may come with all our weakness, our folly, our sinfulness, and fall at His feet in penitence. It is His glory to encircle us in the arms of His love and to bind up our wounds, to cleanse us from all impurity.” Ellen White in Homeward Bound, p. 78 CMH 30.5

Reflect: Can you identify any areas in your life where you might be seeking to fill the void of separation from God with unhealthy attachments or pursuits? CMH 30.6
