Anxiety is a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease. It is a normal and often healthy emotion. However, when anxiety is excessive or persistent, it can interfere with daily life. Anxiety can be caused by a variety of factors, including stress, genetics, and brain chemistry. CMH 19.2
Fear is a sudden, intense emotional response to a perceived threat. It is a natural survival mechanism that helps us to avoid danger. Fear is often accompanied by physical symptoms such as a racing heart, sweating, and trembling. CMH 19.3
Trauma is a deeply disturbing or distressing experience that can have a lasting psychological impact. Trauma can be caused by a variety of events, including accidents, natural disasters, war, and violence. CMH 19.4
Anxiety, fear, and trauma are all emotional responses that can have a significant impact on our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.[16] CMH 19.5
