Picture: Counsel #7 — Decisions! Decisions! CMH 17.1

Every decision we make in life impacts our emotional well-being now, and our eternal destiny. Yet, our emotional well-being greatly impacts our decision-making ability! Grief, depression, and anxiety can cause us to make poor decisions, while vibrant health and a mind at peace contribute toward wise and well-thought-out decisions. CMH 17.2

The importance of good decisions cannot be overstated. As followers of Christ, we are called to be salt and light to the world (Matthew 5:13, 14). Our ability to reflect His love and character requires good decisions in all areas of our lives — from our relationships to our finances, to our careers and beyond.[15] CMH 17.3

“Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23 NKJV CMH 17.4

“The tempted one needs to understand the true force of the will. This is the governing power in the nature of man—the power of decision, of choice. Everything depends on the right action of the will.” Ellen G. White in Mind, Character, and Personality, vol. 2, p. 685.2 CMH 17.5
