Counsel #4 — Why We Are Valuable

Picture: Counsel #4 — Why We Are Valuable CI 29.1

We are of great value because the Son of God, the Creator of the vast universe, died on our behalf.[26] When we accept Christ as our Savior and Lord, we are renewed in Him. As forgiven children of the Most High God, we are adopted into His heavenly family. You and I then possess the indwelling of God through His Holy Spirit. We become His temple. That’s an incredible basis for self-respect! CI 29.2

“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2:9 ESV CI 29.3

”Here is where thousands fail; they do not believe that Jesus pardons them personally, individually. They do not take God at His word. It is the privilege of all who comply with the conditions to know for themselves that pardon is freely extended for every sin. Put away the suspicion that God’s promises are not meant for you. They are for every repentant transgressor.” Ellen White in Steps to Christ, p. 52 CI 29.4

Reflect: What is the correlation between your body being a temple of the Holy Spirit
(1 Corinthians 6:19) and your value?
