What if God handed you a priceless gift and said, “Take care of this for Me.” Would you treat it casually, or with care? That’s exactly what He’s done with your body. Even though we don’t yet reflect God’s full physical image because of sickness, aging, and stress, He still expects us to care for our bodies every day. CI 26.2
Right now, your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. That means God’s Spirit dwells in you, and your physical self is part of how you worship and represent Him. God wants to give us the strength to be fully disciplined regarding our food choices, especially as we approach His coming. At this time in Earth’s history, what we eat should serve to rebuild and replenish our bodies, and be in moderation. Additionally, we should plan to get enough sleep, drink plenty of water, exercise regularly, manage stress in healthy ways, and stay away from harmful substances. While you wait for your full physical transformation at Christ’s return, make it a goal to take care of your temple today and every day.[26] CI 26.3
