Sometimes we think being valuable means being perfect, and that if we mess up too much, fall behind, or don’t measure up, then maybe we’re not worth much after all. It’s easy to question your value when you’ve been rejected, overlooked, or made to feel like you don’t matter. CI 186.2
Maybe you’ve heard “God loves you” so many times it feels like just another phrase. But stop for a moment and look at the cross. Not as a symbol, but as the clearest declaration of your worth. God didn’t pay for you with wealth or words - He paid with His own pain and suffering by sending His precious, beloved Son to die for you: stripped, mocked, beaten, and nailed to a cross. Jesus bore our sin, our shame, and our insecurity without hesitation because that is how much we are worth to Him. Understand that this wasn’t a generic rescue mission. It was personal. The cross is not just a story about sacrifice. It’s a love letter written in blood. So, the next time you’re feeling low or lacking confidence, remember that your value was honored the moment Christ gave everything to call you His.[202] CI 186.3
