Money is one of the clearest windows into a man’s character. It reveals what he values, who he trusts, and what he believes about God’s provision. The Bible doesn’t shy away from this truth, as Jesus spoke a lot about this. Why? Because wealth, when unmanaged, can quietly become a master. CI 152.2
Masculine financial leadership begins with the understanding that everything belongs to God. That paycheck, that savings account, that investment - none of it is truly yours. You’re a steward, not an owner. This mindset reshapes everything as tithing becomes an act of worship, saving becomes an act of wisdom, and giving becomes a reflection of God’s generosity. A godly man won’t spend recklessly to prove his worth like a man of the world. Christlike men set budgets, live below their means, avoid unnecessary debt, and plan for the future. Most importantly, He provides for his household, supports the local church, and gives freely to those in need. There is danger in both greed and stinginess, so whether providing for a family, supporting missions, or simply living within comfortable means, a financially faithful man will always reflect integrity in both his private and public life.[167] CI 152.3
