Counsel #13 — Total Transformation

Picture: Counsel #13 — Total Transformation CI 15.1

We underestimate what the Holy Spirit wants to do in our lives. It’s His purpose, with our active cooperation, to transform our characters fully into the image of Christ. CI 15.2

We don’t need to be overwhelmed or discouraged by that ideal, though! Anything God asks us to do, He will enable us to accomplish. The burden is really on Him, not on us. Our responsibility is to lean heavily on Him and be willing to give Him every part of our life.[13] CI 15.3

“It is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” Philippians 2:13 NKJV CI 15.4

“It is the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, which Jesus said He would send into the world, that changes our character into the image of Christ; and when this is accomplished, we reflect, as in a mirror, the glory of the Lord.” Ellen White in Seventh-day Adventist Bible Commentary, vol. 6, p. 1097.5 CI 15.5

Reflect: Do you get tired of repeating the same old sins over and over? What will you ask the Holy Spirit to help you with? CI 15.6
