Maybe you realize that you don’t want to engage in casual sex anymore. You want to please Jesus, who you’re learning to love. Ultimately, you want a happy, fulfilling, joy-filled marriage. So, you ask yourself, “How do I get from Point A (having sex outside of marriage) to Point B (finding happiness in God’s plan for my life)?” CR 110.2
The Bible has a definitive answer for your question! Scripture instructs us to replace the old life and interests with something better. Find fulfillment in service to others, with quality friends if possible. Worship God joyfully in community. Spend time daily with Jesus, not just for power to overcome temptation, but to know Him, really know Him, as your Best Friend. A whole new world of happiness without regret will open to you.[104] CR 110.3
“For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.” Galatians 5:13 NKJV (Go ahead and check out the rest of the chapter for more specific help.) CR 110.4
“Love to God purifies and ennobles every taste and every desire, intensifies every affection, and brightens ever worthy pleasure. It enables men to appreciate and enjoy all that is true, and good, and beautiful.” Ellen White in My Life Today, p. 158. CR 110.5
