Counsel #24 — Mindful Media Stewardship
Picture: Counsel #24 — Mindful Media Stewardship CR 92.1
Stewardship of media means being intentional about how we use and engage with the content we consume. Just like we’re called to be good stewards of our time, money, and resources, we’re also responsible for how we manage our digital lives.17 Social media, streaming platforms, and other forms of media can be great tools for connection, learning, and entertainment, but without boundaries, they can easily consume our time, influence our thoughts, and impact our well-being. CR 92.2
Creating personal boundaries might mean setting time limits, choosing content that aligns with your values, or taking regular breaks to disconnect. It’s about asking yourself, “Is this content helping me grow, encouraging me, or drawing me closer to God?” and adjusting when it’s not. Establishing boundaries protects our minds and hearts, preventing unhealthy media habits from taking over. By using media responsibly and with purpose, we honor God publicly and create a healthier relationship with technology. CR 92.3
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10 NIV CR 92.4
