Counsel #1 — What Is Christian Communication?

Picture: Counsel #1 — What is Christian Communication? CR 48.1

Communication is central to human existence. It’s the vehicle that links the past, the present, and the future. It’s the way humans connect with each other. CR 48.2

Christian communication is a spiritual exercise that builds relationships with God, family and friends, and connections with known and unknown communities. It includes not only the fundamentals of communication — encoding, decoding, the transmission of information, etc. — but also worship and fellowship and witnessing.  Christian communication encompasses the entire way believers in Jesus express themselves.[45] CR 48.3

“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.” Psalms 19:14 NKJV CR 48.4

“You cannot be too careful of what you say, for the words you utter show what power is controlling your mind and heart. If Christ rules in your heart, your words will reveal the purity, beauty, and fragrance of a character molded and fashioned by His will.” Ellen White in The Voice in Speech and Song, p. 123 CR 48.5

Reflect: In what ways do you believe God is leading your communication with others to always represent Him? CR 48.6
