Counsel #15 — Together in Nature

Picture: Counsel #15 — Together in Nature CR 46.1

The sun peeks over a quiet mountain ridge. Trees sway gently in the breeze. A river rushes in the distance, and birds sing like a living choir. In moments like these, it’s hard not to feel close to God. Nature slows you down, clears your mind, and reminds you of the beauty and peace that only the Creator can give. CR 46.2

That’s why spending time outdoors with friends, whether hiking, kayaking, skiing, or even walking your dogs can be one of the best ways to grow spiritually and socially. Doing this will contribute greatly to your physical health, while providing an opportunity to breathe, bond, and experience God’s presence in the world He made. Activities like canoeing, birdwatching, or exploring botanical gardens can help you unplug and connect with people in real and meaningful ways. Even something as simple as camping or gardening with others can open the door to deep conversations and lasting friendships. Creation was never meant to be admired from a distance. It’s an invitation to explore, reflect, and grow in your relationship with God and others.[46] CR 46.3

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” Psalms 19:1 NIV CR 46.4

“It is His design that we should associate the glories of nature with His character.” Ellen White in My Life Today , p. 294 CR 46.5
