Finding friendships at work can be a valuable source of support, encouragement, and companionship. From a Christian perspective, these friendships offer opportunities to love your neighbor as yourself and to build up one another in Christ. CR 155.2
Imagine your job as a spiritual mission field. Instead of just clocking in for a paycheck, you're working for Christ. Your boss isn't just a demanding supervisor; they're a fellow disciple who needs your support and prayers. Your coworkers aren't just colleagues; they're people God placed in your life for a reason.[148] CR 155.3
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations… and lo, I am with you always.” Matthew 28:19, 20 NKJV CR 155.4
“Regard yourself as a missionary, first of all among your co-workers…. The consistent life, the patient forbearance, the spirit unruffled under provocation, is always the most conclusive argument and the most solemn appeal. If you have had opportunities and advantages that have not fallen to the lot of others, consider this, and be ever a wise, careful, gentle teacher…. Through social relations Christianity comes into contact with the world.… We are to have Christ in us as a well of water, springing up into everlasting life, refreshing all who come in contact with us.” Ellen White in The Ministry of Health and Healing, p. 289, 290, 291 CR 155.5
Reflect: Regardless of your work environment, how can you see your boss and coworkers as fellow disciples who need your support and prayers? CR 155.6
