The third episode in The Conflict saga, The Hero is an adaptation of Ellen G. White’s classic book, The Desire of Ages. It continues the epic war between Christ and Satan and their respective legions of angels. Using contemporary language it brings new life to timeless truths. The Hero includes all the stories and major applications of the original book, offering insights into the conflict raging behind the Bible narrative. In the following pages The Hero narrates a daring rescue planned in heaven before the beginning of time and executed on Earth through the selfless person of Jesus Christ. Risking everything, He left His throne as King of the universe to live among the poor and outcast, with the goal of winning back this renegade planet. 3TC 6.3

The plan of salvation could not be carried out in heaven where Jesus ruled the universe with His Father. Leaving behind the safety and comfort of His heavenly kingdom, Jesus came to this world as a baby boy, born in a humble stable. His earthly father was a poor carpenter, and His family struggled to live. Despite Scripture foretelling His coming, the world did not welcome or understand His mission to save humanity. Although He showed immense love and compassion, people opposed Him and plotted to kill Him from birth. He was beaten, spat upon, and crucified on Calvary’s cross to save the very ones who abused Him. Through it all, He remained faithful to His mission. Jesus died a conqueror over Satan and sin, rose again, and lives today, completing His rescue mission by saving every person who accepts Him as their Savior. There is no greater love story in the universe. 3TC 7.1
