To these are appended דְּבָרִים of a more mixed character as to size and content in 22:7—24:22; 24:23—34; 30:1—14; v 15—33; 31:1—9; v 10—31; the Praise of Wisdom 1:8—9 is prefixed, and an introduction to the whole 1:1—7, in which the whole contents are represented as) משׁלים Pr 1:1, cf. v 6. The references in Jb 13:12; 27:1; 29:1; Pr 26:7, 9 Ec 12:9 are to the same type of wisdom.

מֶ֫שֶׁק n.[m.] acquisition, possession (?; meaning conject. from context, from analogy of מִמְשָׁק q.v., and of משׁך), only וּבֶן־מֶשֶׁק בֵּיתִי הוּא דַּמֶּשֶׂק אֱלִיעֶזֶר Gn 15:2 (cf. בן 8 (λ), supr. p. 121 b; Ges§ 128, 2, R. 2. c) and the son of acquisition (= he who is to acquire, the heir of) my house is, etc.; מ׳ poss. changed from משׁך (cf. Jb 28:18) for word-play with דמשׂק, Kau and So Gn. Anm. 62, or by copyist’s error, but very dubious. 𝔊 Μασεκ (n.pr., cf. LagBN 78).
