King James Reference Version
Timothy 2
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable (Jeremiah 29:7) life in all godliness and honesty.
For this is good (Romans 12:2) and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
Who will have all men to be saved, (Isaiah 55:7; Ezekiel 18:23; John 3:17; 2 Peter 3:9) and to come unto the knowledge (John 17:3) of the truth.
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
Who gave himself a ransom (Isaiah 53:10; Matthew 20:28; Titus 2:14; 1 Peter 1:18) for all, to be testified in due time.
Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (1 Corinthians 9:1; 2 Timothy 1:11) (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.
I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.
Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
But I suffer not a woman (1 Corinthians 14:34; Ephesians 5:24) to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
For Adam was first formed, (Genesis 2:7; 1 Corinthians 11:9) then Eve.
And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived (Genesis 3:4; Genesis 3:13; 2 Corinthians 11:3) was in the transgression.
Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, (Genesis 3:16; John 16:21) if they continue in faith and charity (1 Corinthians 8:1; 1 Corinthians 13:1; Ephesians 5:2; 1 Thessalonians 3:6; 2 Thessalonians 1:3; 1 Timothy 4:12; 2 Timothy 2:22; 2 Timothy 3:10; 2 Peter 1:7; 3 John 1:6; Jude 1:12; Revelation 2:19) and holiness with sobriety.
