Matthew 7

Judge (Luke 6:37; Romans 2:1; Romans 14:3; 1 Corinthians 4:3; 1 Corinthians 4:5; James 4:11) not, that ye be not judged.

For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure (Mark 4:24; Luke 6:38) ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

And why beholdest (Luke 6:41) thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, (Matthew 15:26; Mark 7:27; Philippians 3:2; Revelation 22:15) neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend (Proverbs 9:7) you.

Ask, (Matthew 21:22; Mark 11:24; Luke 11:9; Luke 18:1; John 14:13; John 15:7; John 16:23; 1 John 3:22) and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh (Proverbs 8:17) findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?

Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give (Isaiah 49:15; Romans 8:32) good things to them that ask him?

Therefore all things whatsoever (Luke 6:31; Romans 13:8; 1 Timothy 1:5) ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law (Matthew 5:19) and the prophets.

Enter ye in at the strait (Luke 13:24) gate: for wide (1 John 5:19) is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Beware of false prophets, (Deuteronomy 13:3; Jeremiah 23:16; Romans 16:17; Ephesians 5:6; Colossians 2:8; 2 Peter 2:1; 1 John 4:1) which come to you in sheep's (Micah 3:5; 2 Timothy 3:5) clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. (Acts 20:29)

Ye shall know them by their fruits. (Luke 6:43) Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

Even so every good tree (Jeremiah 11:19) bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

A good (Matthew 12:33) tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, (Matthew 3:10; Luke 3:9; Luke 13:7; Luke 13:9; John 15:6) and cast into the fire.

Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, (Hosea 8:2; Acts 19:13) Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth (Romans 2:13; James 1:22) the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied (Numbers 24:4; John 11:51; 1 Corinthians 13:2) in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew (Exodus 33:12; Nahum 1:7; 1 Corinthians 8:3; Galatians 4:9; 2 Timothy 2:19) you: depart (Psalms 5:5; Psalms 6:8; Matthew 25:41) from me, ye that work iniquity. (Matthew 5:20; Matthew 13:41)

Therefore whosoever heareth (Luke 6:47) these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat (Acts 14:22) upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall (Hebrews 10:31; 2 Peter 2:20) of it.

And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished (Matthew 13:54; Matthew 22:33; Mark 1:22; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:32) at his doctrine:

For he taught them as one having authority, (Isaiah 50:4; John 7:46) and not as the scribes.
