Dear Brother and Sister Kress:
I shall send you and others a copy of the letter written to S. T. Belden [Lt 293, 1904]. He is trying to do missionary work according to his physical strength and whenever I can, I send him and his wife letters to encourage them that they may encourage others who have not the privilege to assemble together and have news and experiences to relate. But the Lord will not forget those who are separated so far from the people who associate together and are blessed with meeting with the variety of messengers of the Lord, and to hear the good news of the work in various parts of the field. We hope to see the Lord’s people unify. May the Lord by His Holy Spirit bless you all and lead you to higher and still higher experiences. We need to be more and more encouraged and full of praise and thanksgiving to God. 19LtMs, Lt 410, 1904, par. 1
I have but a few minutes to write. I shall expect that you are advancing. Your letters are encouraging. We need to give evidence that we do have increase of faith. We want the love of Christ in our hearts daily. It is our faith that is to lay hold upon the encouraging assurance that the Lord has made every provision that we should know the will of God from moment [to moment], in order to be responsible for doing it. 19LtMs, Lt 410, 1904, par. 2
Be of good hope; rejoice in the love of God. We are to be grateful. “And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, ... and thou shalt be like a watered garden, ... whose waters fail not.” [Isaiah 58:11.] “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.” [Psalm 32:8.] “The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.” [Psalm 25:9.] “The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will show them his covenant.” [Psalm 25:14.] “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” [Proverbs 3:6.] “Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterwards receive me to glory.” [Psalm 73:24. 19LtMs, Lt 410, 1904, par. 3
This must go for the mail. Will try to do better next mail. In much love to you all. We remember you all with deep interest and wish we could see you. 19LtMs, Lt 410, 1904, par. 4
