I enter today, November 26, 1882, upon a new year of my life. The past year has been a year of sorrow, of anguish of soul in consequence of my bereavement and because of the backslidden state of the people of God, which burden has brought me to the very gates of death. The Lord has revealed His great mercy to me at our camp meeting in raising me up from a state of debility, feebleness, and discouragement to strength and hopefulness. 3LtMs, Ms 6, 1882, par. 1
