Dear Children:

Father rested well last night. We are up at five o’clock preparing to eat breakfast [at] half-past five and leave for our journey at six o’clock. 3LtMs, Lt 15, 1877, par. 1

This day’s ride and tomorrow’s will make two hundred and fifty miles we have traveled. I think it the very best thing that we could do for Father. We are continually clinging to the arm of God. Father has had, I think, a bilious fever. We have packed and bathed him and given him dripping sheets. He has drunk a great deal of water. He will come out all right, for we believe in God. He will be blessed of God. He will come forth from this with renewed health physically and spiritually. God is on our side, and we shall not be moved. Pray for us in faith. Walk humbly before God, for one touch of His finger can let us feel how weak are our poor selves without Him. 3LtMs, Lt 15, 1877, par. 2
