Moved by the Thought of God

Here we see that God’s throne in the heavens is composed of living creatures, and that it is not fixed to one spot, but that it moves. “And they went every one straight forward; whither the Spirit was to go, they went; and they turned not when they went.” 5 EVCO 360.4

“Withersoever the Spirit was to go, they went, thither was their spirit to go; and the wheels were lifted up over against them; for the Spirit of life was in the wheels. When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up over against them; for the Spirit of life was in the wheels.” 6 EVCO 360.5

The throne was too glorious to be seen and described in detail; and we can form no clear conception of its likeness; but one thing we may learn, namely, that it is full of the Spirit of God, and is so closely in touch with Him that His thought for it is instantly executed. God’s Spirit is to go to some place, and thither the throne of God instantly moves. Every thought of God is promptly responded to and carried out, because His Spirit fills His throne and temple.
