Eternal Deliverance

3. The object of their deliverance was that they should be brought in and planted in the mountain of the Lord’s inheritance—a land of their own, where they might dwell for ever in safety. This had not been fulfilled in the days of King David, even when his kingdom was at its height; for it was at the time when he had rest from all his enemies, and proposed to build a temple for the Lord, that the Lord said to him, “Moreover, I will appoint a place for My people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more as before time.” (Compare this also with Luke 1:67-75.)
