In The Medical Missionary, January, 1891, speaking of the Battle Creek Sanitarium, Dr. J. H. Kellogg said:— GSAM 369.1

“The charity treatment administered during the quarter of a century which the institution has existed amounts to considerable more than $100,000, several times more than the capital stock originally invested. GSAM 369.2

“In addition to the charity work referred to, the institution has sent out lecturers, nurses, instructors in cooking schools, and other persons who have been trained for various lines of missionary work.” GSAM 369.3
