As Regards the Hazen Kelly Tract.
“It has twenty-seven acres of oranges. The ranch usually turns off about $3,000 worth of oranges. This year the crop is about an average or possibly a little light. The frosts have spoiled the orange market so prices are rather low. However ours escaped the frost. The taxes and interest of the Hazen Kelly ranch will amount to $2,400 per year. If the ranch does average well it ought to keep up the care of the ranch and the interest and taxes. One year they sold $6,500 worth off the place. It is too early to predict just what we will get in returns this year, but it is only fair to state that the probability is that the orange crop, alfalfa crop and rent of the houses will more than keep up the interest, insurance, taxes and necessary labor to keep the place in order.” LLM 590.1
