Loma Linda Messages
J. A. Burden to Brother, Aug. 24, 1905
Glendale, Calif., Aug. 24, 1905.
Dear Brother:—
With this we are sending you three lessons on Medical Missionary work which were presented to the Conference at the recent camp-meeting. Many of our brethren and sisters did not enjoy the privileges of the meeting, so we thought it would be well to have these lessons given in the churches, so that all should be thoroughly acquainted with the special work which the Lord is seeking to carry forward in Southern California. In connection with these lessons it would be well to read some of the more striking descriptions of Sanitariums as given by Sister White in the little pamphlet on the medical work in Southern California. The Lord is calling us to a definite work in this field, and it can be only accomplished in the fullness by every one taking hold individually. We shall soon have another pamphlet with further instruction from the Spirit of God on this all-important subject, and articles from others descriptive of the present enterprise at Loma Linda, and a report of the wonderful meeting on the camp-ground when the $40,000 were subscribed to carry forward this enterprise. LLM 118.1
Feeling assured you will cooperate with us in this work, we stand ready to supply you with whatever information we can that is needful for the people. We shall be glad to hear from you as to the results of these meetings in your churches. LLM 118.2
Yours very truly,
(Signed) J. A. Burden.
